Lot contains: (A) Luftwaffe dagger with a "RICH ABR. HERDER, SOLINGEN" marked steel blade, with visible cross-graining and light runner and scattered marks, with a couple of spots of light freckling. Aluminum fittings have the usual patina and light wear, and white trylon grip with coiled wire also exhibiting light wear. Portepee knot is attached and exhibits light to medium wear. Steel scabbard retains approximately 90-95% of it dark burnishing with no visible damage. Scabbard bands are aluminum and mismatched. Correct deluxe hangar is attached with light wear. CONDITION: Overall excellent. (B) Heer dagger with a "Eickhorn" marked steel blade with visible cross-graining, light runner and scattered marks, and three tiny dings on the blade's edge. Typical Eickhorn fittings retain 95+ of their burnished nickel finish, and appear undamaged. Yellow trylon grip is excellent with very light damage. Portepee knot is original to the dagger, and exhibits light wear. Steel scabbard has a lightly patinaed high silver finish with light wear and blemishes. Both bands are loose. Deluxe hanger is attached with light to moderate wear, and has unusual gray-green leather pieces attaching the straps to the top fitting. CONDITION: Overall excellent plus. WZ
