Lot contains: (A) Third Reich police bayonet with a "P.D. LUNESCHLOSS" marked nickel-plated steel blade, which has been cut down from an Imperial German police bayonet. Blade has very light scattered marks with light freckling to approximately 10%, near the tip. Evidence of an older attempt at sharpening/buffing. Nickel-plated brass fittings are excellent, with the police unit marking of "S.D.IV.568." present which translates to Prussian Schotzpolizei, Duesseldorf District, Duty Location #4, Rack/Item #568. Stag grips are undamaged with an aluminum Polizei emblem. Black leather scabbard has light wear and has been damaged from bending, and the nickel-plated fittings retain 90-95% of their finish with scattered marks, and the lower fitting has several dents. Throat screw is missing. There is a matching unit marking of "S.D.IV.568" on the upper fitting. Black leather frog with steel rivets and dated "1942" is attached with light wear. CONDITION: Overall very good. (B) Third Reich police bayonet with a “ALEXANDER COPPEL / SOLINGEN” marked nickel-plated steel blade, which has been cut down from an Imperial German police bayonet. Blade has scattered marks with light freckling. Evidence of an older attempt at sharpening/buffing. Nickel-plated brass fittings are excellent, with the police unit marking of “S.KO.I.846.” present which translates to Schotzpolizei, Municipal Police Property, Administratine District Koln, Duty Location 1, Rack/Item #846. Stag grips are undamaged with an aluminum Polizei emblem. Brown leather scabbard has light wear with minor cracks and creases. The nickel-plated fittings retain 90-95% of their finish with scattered marks. Throat screw is missing. There is a mismatched unit marking of "S.Ko.I.931." on the upper fitting.
