Lot consists of: (A) Hyde & Shattuck "1876" single shot derringer. Made circa late 1870s. "1876" marked on the left side of the barrel. No sights on the half round, half octagon barrel. Frame and barrel both being nickel plated. The hammer and trigger are case colored. Oiled rose wood grips, with the right panel having a replacement screw. CONDITION: Metal components retain 50% of their original finish with heavy scratches and wear. Grips have handling marks and scratches. Bore is heavily frosted with fair rifling. Tight hammer being mechanically fine. (B) Hyde & Shattuck single shot derringer. Made circa late 1870s. No markings minus a serial number. No sights on the half round, half octagon barrel. Frame and barrel both being nickel plated. The hammer and trigger are case colored. Oiled walnut grips. CONDIITON: Metal retains 80% of its finishes, with light scratches and edge wear. Grips have wear. Bore is heavily frosted with visible rifling. Tight hammer being mechanically fine. JWA
