Made circa 1860s. Serial number indicates first day production. Company address in 2 lines on the top of the barrel, with no patent dates. Matching serials on the barrel, inside of the left grip, in addition to being hand numbered in pencil on the inside of the grips. Blued, with most areas turning gray. Grip in shape similar to a fishtail, with this model being labeled as such by collectors. Varnished rose wood grips. Only 5 of these known in .22 caliber. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish with a gray/brown patina forming in most areas. Grips have scratches and handling marks. Bore is frosted, with good rifling retained. Hammer is tight. Barrel tends to wobble. Mechanically fine. JWA
