Made circa early 1870s, and sometimes called the "Baby Allen". Barrel is marked "E.ALLEN & CO. MAKERS" on the octagon portion. Matching serials on the barrel and inside of the frame. Half round, half octagon barrel with no sights. Fine scroll engraving on the barrel and frame, looking to be factory. Nickeled finish barrel and brass frame. Hammer is blued. Period ivory grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its finish with flaking and scratches. Grips have cracks on the interior. Bore is heavily frosted with light pitting. Poor rifling. Hammer is tight, being mechanically fine. JWA
