Lot consist of: (A) Ethan Allen single shot derringer. Made circa 1860s. Company address and patent date on the left side of the barrel. Matching serials on the interior of the frame, bottom of the barrel, extractor, and inside of both grip panels. Half round, half octagon barrel with pin front sight and v-notch rear. Ejector is present. Scarce brass frame, with the balance of parts blued. Grips are varnished walnut. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its finish, with the barrel forming an even gray patina. The frame is tarnished, with little signs of cleaning. Grips have handling marks and scratches. Bore is heavily frosted with pitting as well. mechanically operable, but hammer spring is weak. (B) Ethan Allen single shot derringer. Made circa 1860s. Company address and patent date on the left side of the barrel. Matching serials on the interior of the frame, bottom of the barrel, extractor, and inside of both grip panels. Half round, half octagon barrel with pin front sight and v-notch rear. Ejector is present. Barrel is factory blued. Frame was silver plated, wearing down to its bare finish. Birds head butt with walnut grips. CONITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with most areas forming an even gray patina. Grips have light finish wear. Bore is clean overall, with good rifling. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. JWA
