Made late 1860s. Left side of the frame is marked "WM.W.MARSTON / PATENTED / MAY 26, 1857 / NEW YORK CITY / IMPROVED 1864". Matching serials on the barrel assembly, frame, and on the inside of both grip panels. Iron barrels, with blade front sight and v-notch rear cut into the barrel latch. Barrel selector on the right side of the frame. Frame is brass, with the balance of the parts being blued. Varnished rosewood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its blued finishes, with most forming a partial gray patina. Brass is tarnished with some signs of cleaning. Grips have interior cracks. Exteriors have light handling marks. Bores are frosted, with some light pitting. Good overall rifling retained. Hammer and barrel are tight. Selector turns as it should. JWA
