Made late 1860s. Left side of the frame is marked "WM.W.MARSTON / PATENTED / MAY 26, 1857 / NEW YORK CITY / IMPROVED 1864". Matching serials on the barrel assembly and frame. Iron barrels, with blade front sight and v-notch rear cut into the barrel latch. Barrel selector on the right side of the frame. Frame is brass, with the balance of the parts being blued. Period ivory grips, being possibly factory. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish, with the barrel starting to form a gray patina. Frame is tarnished, with little signs of cleaning. Grips have cracking on the bottom, otherwise being very good. Bores are lightly frosted with minor pitting. Good overall rifling retained. Hammer and barrels are tight. Barrel selector is tough, but does turn. JWA
