Lot consists of: (A) J.M. Marlin Co. Model OK single shot derringer. Made circa late 1860s. Top of the barrel is marked "O.K.". Matching serials on the butt, barrel, and interior of the right grip. Half round, half octagon barrel with brass blade front sight. Barrel is blued with the frame being brass (probably silver plated originally). Varnished rose wood grips on a square butt. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish, with a brown patina forming on the barrel. Brass frame is tarnished, with no signs of cleaning. Left grip is chipped on the top edge. Otherwise grips have mild handling marks. Bore is frosted with pitting. Fair rifling retained. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. (B) J.M. Marlin Co. Model OK single shot derringer. Barrel is blued with the frame being brass (probably silver plated originally). Varnished rose wood grips on a square butt. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish, with a brown patina forming on the barrel. Brass frame is tarnished, with no signs of cleaning. Both grips are cracked on, with the left panel being glued and repaired at some point. Bore is heavily frosted, with some pitting. Good overall rifling. Hammer is tight, being mechanically fine. JWA
