Lot consists of (A) H.C. Lombard Co. single shot pistol. Made circa 1860s. Barrel is marked "H.C. LOMBARD & CO., SPRINGFIELD, MASS". Matching serials on the interior of the frame, and on the inside of the right grip panel. Iron, octagonal barrel with brass blade front sight. Brass frame, being once silver plated. Factory, fine scroll engraving on both the barrel frame. Varnished rosewood grips. Comes in a period red velvet lined wood case with cleaning rod and 28 rounds of vintage peters .22 Short Ammunition. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its finishes, with the barrel forming an even gray patina. Brass is tarnished, with little signs of cleaning. Grips are excellent, with a few handling marks. Bore is pitted with fair rifling. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. Case exterior has some handling marks. Interior is very good. Ammunition is tarnished, with bullets starting to corrode.
