Made circa early 1870s. This gun as a very interesting dealers name on the top of the barrel, "J.P.LOWER / PHILADA". Factory style scroll engraving on the barrel and frame. Barrel is half round, half octagonal, with no sights. Polished finish, with the brass frame (most likely once silver plated). Period (possibly factory) checkered ivory grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finishes, with a brown patina forming on its barrel. Brass is tarnished, with little signs of cleaning. Grips have some light discoloration. The grip screw head is deformed. Bore is frosted. No rifling. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. JWA
