Lot consists of: (A) James Brown & Son Model Eclipse single shot derringer. Made circa 1870s, by the predecessor to Iver Johnson: Ever Bye & Co. Unmarked, minus the serial number on the inside of the grip leg. Half round, half octagon barrel with no sights. Full factory nickel finish and oiled walnut grips on a bird's heads butt. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its original finish, with general wear and some brown patina starting to form. Grips have handling marks and scratches. Bore is frosted with some pitting. No rifling. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. (B) James Brown & Son Model Eclipse single shot derringer. Made circa 1870s, by the predecessor to Iver Johnson: Ever Bye & Co. Marked "ECLIPSE" on the left side of the barrel. Matching serials on the frame and barrel. Half round, half octagon barrel with no sights. Full factory nickel finish and oiled walnut grips on a birds heads butt. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% with minor scratches. Grips have handling marks and scratches. Bore is frosted with minor pitting. Hammer has push off when cocked, but is still mechanically operable. (C) Unknown pocket derringer. Made circa 1870s-80s. This gun is unmarked, in addition to having no serial number (antique). Tapered barrel with a groove running the full length. No sights. Barrel was blued at some point. Brass frame, being most likely originally silver plated. Later production varnished, walnut grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finishes, with both parts being heavily cleaned and polished. Grips have a few minor handling marks. Bore is clean overall, with strong rifling.
