Lot consists of (A) European Style derringer. Looks to be possibly French or Belgian, made circa 1880s. "FB" proof on the left side of the frame. Serial number on the inside of the grip. Half round, half octagon barrel with pin front sight and V-notch rear. Large spur hammer, serving as the breech block. Nickel finished brass frame/barrel. Heavily varnished period rose wood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its finish, with brass beginning to poke through. Grips have a few handling marks. Heavily frosted smooth bore. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. (B) Unknown single shot derringer. Marked "NO FEAR / US AMER.", on the top of the barrel. Serial number on the butt and inside of the frame. Round barrel with no sights. Nickel finished frame and barrel. Bird's head butt, with oiled rose wood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its nickel finish, with light wear/handling marks. Both grips have been sanded, and retain minor handling marks and scratches. Bore is frosted, with good overall rifling. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. (C) Unknown single shot derringer. Most likely made circa 1870s/80s. No markings or serial numbers (antique). Two part tip up barrel. No sights. Brass barrel and frame (most likely nickel plated at some point). Chamber insert and internal parts are iron. Varnished rosewood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains non of its original finish, with the brass components being cleaned. Grips have handling marks and scratches. Smooth bore with heavy frosting. Hammer is tight. Barrel does not stay latched when cocked. JWA
