Lot consists of (A) Norwich Falls Tiger single shot derringer. Made circa 1870s, being very similar to the Iver Johnson Eclipse Derringer. Marked "TIGER" on the left side of the barrel. Matching serials on the barrel, frame, and on the inside of the right grip. Half round, half octagon barrel with no sights. Nickel plated iron frame and barrel. Oiled finished walnut grips on a birdshead butt. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with some wear and areas of patina. Grips have handling marks and scratches. Heavily frosted smooth bore, with some pitting. Mechanically poor, as the hammer does not stay cocked. (B) Norwich Falls Pistol Co. Union single shot derringer. Made circa 1880s. Barrel is marked "UNION". Matching serials on the bottom of the frame, and inside of the right grip panel. Two part barrel with pin front sight. Fame and barrel are iron, with a period nickel finish. Sanded rosewood grips. CONDITION: Metal components retain 70% of their nickel finish. Right grip is cracked on the interior, otherwise just have minor handling marks. Smooth bore with heavy frosting. Hammer is tight, being mechanically fine. JWA
