Frank Wesson manual extractor single shot derringer. About 200 made circa 1859-60. Barrel collar acts as a lock and extractor. Unmarked, minus the serial numbers. Matching numbers on the barrel, extractor collar, left grip leg, and on the inside of each grip panel. Iron octagonal barrel with brass blade front sight. Brass frame (once silver plated), Rosewood grips with a square butt. Metal retains little of its original finish, with some bluing visible on the barrel (mostly turning to a brown patina). Brass frame forming an even tarnish. Grips are solid with a few handling marks. Minor pitting in the bore, with very good rifling retained. Tight hammer, being mechanically fine. JWA
