Model 1877 Lightning double action revolver manufactured by Colt in 1882. Left side of barrel is stamped "COLT. D.A. 38", with Colt's 2-line address across the top. Left side of frame bears stampings stipulating the patent information followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered hard rubber grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, cylinder, trigger guard, as well as on the bottom of the rear grip strap. CONDITION: Metal components retain trace amounts of their blue finish, with the balance exhibiting a mottled gray patina, and with some scattered spots of mild surface oxidation. Bore is bright, exhibiting moderate inactive oxidation and strong rifling throughout. Grips show heavy smoothing as well as scattered marks from handling and storage overall. MLW
