Model 1877 Lightning double action revolver manufactured by Colt in 1902. Left side of barrel bears a faint "COLT D.A." stamp, with the top bearing a faint 2-line address. Left side of frame bears patent information followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Metal components have been entirely renickeled, with the frame being mounted with contemporary 2-piece smooth wood grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard as well as on the bottom of the rear grip strap. Cylinder stop pin and cylinder stop tension spring appear to be contemporary replacements and are ground down. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied nickel finish, exhibiting a few small scattered spots of dark oxidation as well as a few spots of pitting beneath the finish overall. Bore is bright as refinished, exhibiting moderate inactive oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from handling and storage, as well as some minor losses to their varnish, but are otherwise fine. MLW
