Standard configuration P.38 manufactured by Spreewerke between 1943 and 1944. The left side of the slide is stamped "P.38" followed by Spreewerke's manufacturer code "cyq" and the serial number, with the right side bearing a Spreewerke "(Eagle) / 88" waffenamt on either side of an eagle firing proof. Metal components exhibit a salt blued finish, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece grooved pressed resin grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block. Pistol is accompanied by a "eue/42" (Otto Reichel) above WaA300 marked leather holster. Interior of holster is handwritten in black ink "PFC. C. H. SHORT/ 35702339/ P-38- 9779K" above "H. BLUME L51685 c". CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal applied salt blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear and some areas of light inactive oxidation overall. Grip strap exhibits a gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting some spots of light inactive oxidation and retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise fine. Holster is very good, being still malleable and exhibiting mild exterior wear from handling and storage.
