Type 14 Nambu manufactured at the Kokura arsenal in Tokyo, Japan in January of 1932. The right side of the frame exhibits Kanji characters denoting the model designation, with the right side bearing the Kokura arsenal symbol and serial number above the date code "7.1". Major metal components are blued with some smaller components being strawed. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the grips, firing pin, and firing pin extension, which are unnumbered. Magazine appears to have been arsenal renumbered to match, with its former number lined out. Pistol is accompanied by a leather clamshell holster with a solid leather closure strap. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of light oxidation overall and some areas of light wear showing through to silvering and gray patina. Grip straps exhibit a dark gray patina and moderate inactive oxidation, with pitting present beneath the grips. Bright bore, exhibiting some spots of inactive oxidation and retaining good rifling throughout. Grips show some marks from handling and storage overall, but are otherwise fine. Holster shows moderate exterior wear from handling and storage, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: Roger Bender Collection. MLW
