Remington M1871 Army rolling block single shot pistol with 8" round barrel chambered in .50 Remington Army (.50-25 Centerfire) shotshell with blade front sight and breechblock notch rear. 2 piece walnut stock and forearm, with CRS cartouche on left side of stock. This is one of only approximately 200 1871 Army rolling block pistols in this configuration. CONDITION: Excellent for its age, with a vast majority of the original bluing remaining on barrel with scattered minor handling marks and light muzzle wear. Breechblock and hammer retain their National Armory Bright finish. Frame retains strong case colors with screws and pins retaining their flame applied straw and blue colors. Stock and forearm are excellent with cartouche sharp and no major signs of distress. Mechanically fine. Bore is bright with scattered areas of abrasion throughout from period use with corrosive black powder. PROVENANCE: Roger Bender Collection. TON
