Manufactured 1944. Serrated slope front sight, square notch flat top rear sight. "P" proof in front of rear sight. Left side of slide with "ITHACA GUN CO., INC / ITHACA, N.Y.". Frame with Ithaca proof on left side of trigger guard, FJA proof for Atwood, P proof under checkered magazine release. Right side of frame with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and serial number behind slide stop hole, "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" ahead of slide stop. High Standard barrel with "HS" on right lug, "P" on left. Small parts comprise narrow serrated hammer, serrated thick tab safety, serrated slide stop, short checkered stamped trigger, long 1911A1 grip safety, arched serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Keyes fibre grips with reinforcing rings. Full blue magazine with "S" on lip for Scoville. CONDITION: Overall very good, retaining the vast majority of the parkerized finish with some machining marks visible throughout. Slide is very good with some minor high edge silvering; one splotch of finish on right side of slide, just under ejection port, that appears to be oil staining. Frame is also very good with some silvering to high edges, including a small takedown mark. Dust cover has a bit more silvering than balance. Mechanically fine, bore is good with mild frosting in grooves. PROVENANCE: Roger Bender Collection. EMW
