Model 1861 Civil War Rifled Musket made by Colt Firearms Company from 1861 to 1865. 31" shortened .58 caliber rifled barrel with correct military sights, 2 iron barrel bands, iron nosecap, and steel ramrod. Percussion lock dated 1863 and marked with Colt's patent and address. Walnut stock with iron furniture, illegible cartouches, and possible owner or unit embellishment. CONDITION: As found condition with some old applied black paint on metal and some light surface corrosion with usage dings and marks. Poor bore with crisp mechanics. DLM
