Kentucky style fullstock longrifle signed in script "J.S. SUMMERS" who worked in Georgetown, Indiana circa the 1850s. 44" octagon .40 caliber rifled barrel with hunting sights. Signed behind rear sight "J.S. SUMMERS". Percussion lock with double set trigger control. Full curly maple stock with brass hardware and original hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with metal turning a brown patina. Brass has faded to a golden yellow patina. Wood has aged patina with traces of original finish. Repaired toe wound with some repairs around lock. Dark bore with sticky mechanics. DLM
