French 1766 Charleville musket made in France at the Charleville Armory circa 1770. 44 - 1/2" round .69 caliber smoothbore barrel held in place with 3 iron barrel bands; middle band fitted with sling swivel. Barrel has illegible stamps at breech. Flint lock marked "CHARLEVILLE" in script with single trigger control. Full walnut military stock with straight comb and possible former owners initials etched in buttstock. CONDITION: As found with cut forestock, missing tang screw, and rear lock plate screw. Cock is missing top jaw and screw. Ramrod is missing. Great gun for restoration or example on fireplace. DLM
