Cut down Springfield Model 1861 made by Parker Snow & Co between 1863 and 1864. Rifle has 2 iron bands, iron nosecap, 31" rifled .58 caliber barrel with correct sights and tag from consignor labeling this gun as an Artillery model. Percussion lock dated 1864 with "EAGLE / U.S." and marked "PARKERS SNOW & CO. MERIDAN, CONN." with single trigger control. Walnut full military stock with iron furniture and steel tulip head ramrod. CONDITION: As found with heavy corrosion and heavy usage marks and dings. Pitted dark bore with crisp mechanics.
