Made late 1917. Barrel is Eddystone production, being dated "10-17", under a flaming bomb. Most parts are "E" marked, including the stock. Only the rear sight looks to be non-Eddystone, being marked "W" for Winchester. "2F" marked on the right side of the stock, and a "1K" marked on the wrist, on top of an eagle's head. Blade front sight with standard ladder rear, adjustable to 1600 yards. Original blued finish. Stock has a light oil finish. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish, with areas beginning to forma grayish brown patina. Stock has a few minor dings, scratches and gouges. Bore is clean overall, retaining crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. PROVENANCE: Roger Bender Collection. JWA
