Manufactured in 1918. Classic blued 24" octagon Winchester Proof Steel barrel chambered in .22 Short with 2-line address, "MOD. 1890" and caliber designation markings. Sporting sights. Nickel finished takedown receiver. Checkered straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO" composite grip cap and nickel plated crescent butt plate. Ribbed walnut slide forend. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains the vast majority of its factory applied blue finish drifting to brown patina in some areas. Receiver and butt plate retain nearly all of their expertly reapplied bright nickel finishes with a couple minor spots of loss and some handling marks. Stock has some scattered impressions and minor spots of finish loss, but is otherwise very good. Dark bore with visible rifling. Fine mechanics. Assembly number "852" found on frame at pistol grip and on stock under the butt plate. PROVENANCE: Roger Bender Collection. BAS
