Manufactured by Burnside circa 1865. Blued 20" barrel chambered in .56-56 with blade front sight and ladder sight graduated to 900 yards. Case hardened lever action marked with 4-line address and "MODEL / 1865". Stock stamped with 2 inspector cartouches and is fitted with a saddle ring bar with ring, rear sling swivel, and correct butt plate which accepts removable tube magazines. Matching plain walnut forend with a single barrel band. CONDITION: Very Good. Blued finish on barrel has largely drifted to a brown patina, with receiver also exhibiting a lighter brown patina. Stocks are good with some added finish and impressions throughout. Dark bore showing well defined rifling and some oxidation spots. Mechanically fine. PROVENANCE: Roger Bender Collection. BAS
