World War II US Navy Mk 1. 16 power spyglass with wood carry case. The spyglass is marked ""U.S. NAVY SPYGLASS / QUARTERMASTER MARK II 16 POWER / BU SHIPS SERIAL 14657 1942 / HAYWOOD LOS ANGELES". The spyglass is constructed of brass, wrapped in leather, and painted black. Contained in a wood US Navy marked carry case and also dated 1942. CONDITION: The optic remains clear with functioning adjustment. Leather wrap exhibits scuffs but remains firm. Several scratches in the black paint. Case exhibits wear and various blemishes with functioning latches. This is a very nice example of an early war US Navy optic. Overall very good. JLD
