Lot consists of four cased tintypes of soldiers. (A) Sixth plate in leatherette case, three-quarter standing Civil War infantryman with musket and fixed bayonet, in front of painted backdrop with military tents and U.S. flag. Soldier has a very determined, glowering look. Buttons on vest and frock coat lightly tinted. CONDITION: Very good. (B) Three-quarter standing sergeant in leatherette case. Light color tunic and flat top cap, two piece buckle. Likely Canadian. CONDITION: Very good. Hinge weak. (C) Seated ninth plate, soldier in cap and tunic with standing wife or girlfriend. About 1890, National Guard. Embossed leatherette case. CONDITION: Very good, nice tones. (D) Seated ninth plate. Civil War soldier with cap and jacket. Photographer tinted 6 visible buttons and the belt plate, partly obscuring what seems to be a Smith & Wesson No. 1 tucked in his belt. CONDITION: Good, slightly dark.
