Lot consists of an unrelated set of World War II US Marine Corps P41 fatigues, consisting of a jacket and trousers which are both UNIS marked to the 4th Marine Division. (A) Modified P41 fatigue jacket which was cut short just below the last button. These alterations are noticed on other P41 jackets and were crafted by the Marines in order for the jacket to be less weight and cooler when wearing. The jacket features the upper pocket with standard USMC stamp and a 4 USMC donut button center. Ghosting is evident where the upper portion of the lower pockets were stitched. The alteration is quite interesting, but the reverse of the jacket is even better and features 4th Marine Division UNIS markings. The markings denote a Corporal of Easy Company, 4th Medical Battalion, 4th Marine Division. There are initials written on the inside collar. CONDITION: The jacket exhibits its nice original green color with a few scattered stains. The UNIS marking exhibits fading but remains legible. USMC stamp also exhibits slight fading. Overall very good. (B) WWII USMC P41 Trousers in standard P41 configuration with 2 side and 2 back pockets. Great markings including laundry numbers stamped around the waist and 4th Marine Division UNIS markings which are stamped on both of the back pockets. The markings denote a Sergeant of Headquarters Company, 4th Pioneer Battalion, 4th Marine Division. CONDITION: The trousers retain 4 of their original USMC donut buttons, 1 was replaced with a period plastic button. Fraying and loose thread around the cuffs. UNIS stamps exhibit fading but remains legible. Scattered paint stains of varying colors including yellow, black, and gray. A very nice set of trousers with great markings and wear. Overall good. JLD
