Excellent set of World War II US Marine Corps field camouflaged field gear, consisting of: (A) Late WWII USMC lower pack with excellent theater camouflaged paint. The pack is in standard M1941 configuration and exhibits a 3 color tan, green, and brown, hand applied camouflaged pattern. No visible markings. CONDITION: The pack exhibits oxidation on the brass components of the pack. Stitching remains tight with a few loose threads. Camouflage paint has aged and blended with the original color of the pack nicely. Overall very good. (B) WWII canteen contained in a 2nd pattern USMC cover which exhibits matching camouflage to the pack. The canvas cover is nicely camouflaged with similar shades of tan, green, and brown, with shades of black in some areas. The canteen is dated 1943, while the cup is dated 1953. The cup exhibits an area of clay like trench mud near the handle. CONDITION: The cover exhibits scattered scuffs and light blemishes. Camouflage paint is nicely preserved. Snaps exhibit oxidation. Missing belt hook. Canteen and cup exhibit wear with scattered blemishes. Overall good. This is a very attractive set of theater camouflaged field gear. JLD
