Measures 25 - 11/16" from tip of kissaki to munemachi. Classic shinogi zukuri form with iori mune. Gilt copper habaki. Sword is out of polish; hada and hamon are indeterminate. Nakago with katana mei reading for Fujii Kaneoto, seki stamp, single mekugi-ana, drilled. Kurijiri nakagojiri. Takanoha yasurime. Mounts are army style floral-and-roe koijiri, semegane, single hanger with double straps, koiguchi tsuba, fuchi, and kabuto-gane. Simple plain sarute with blue and brown sword knot for company grade officers. Tsuka-ito, traditionally woven, over chrysanthemum menuki and rayskin same. CONDITION: Blade is out of polish with surface mossing and and scratches throughout. Yokote has been polished out. Mounts have some rubs, saya with numerous scrapes and chips, mostly under the hanger. Tsuka-ito is good, tight. PROVENANCE: Roger Bender Collection. EMW
