Manufactured for martial use in the Civil War. Standard 22" .52 caliber rifled barrel marked with 3-line address and "NEW MODEL 1863" designation. Blade front sight and rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Unconverted straight breech falling block action marked with Sharps and Lawrence patents. Fit with a straight grain walnut butt stock with 2 faint inspector cartouches, iron saddle ring bar with ring, and butt plate. No patch box. Matching walnut forend retained with a single band. CONDITION: Very good. Iron components exhibit a dove gray patina. Stocks are very good as lightly cleaned with some added finish and some minor marks. Very good bright bore showing crisp rifling and some light oxidation spots. Mechanically fine. BAS
