Lot consists of: (A) A very interesting and somewhat fiery letter drafted and signed by Eleanor Roosevelt regarding the influence that politics had over the radio. The letter was drafted in November 1932, 4 months before her husband, Franklin Roosevelt's Presidential term began. The letter is professionally framed and measures approximately 13 - 1/4" x 14" including the frame. The letter that Mrs. Roosevelt is responding to is contained in plastic on the reverse of the frame. The letter comes with a James Spence Authentication Auction Letter of Authenticity. CONDITION: The letter exhibits light fading with legible text and signature. Faint creases and fold lines visible. (B) Short letter drafted and signed by Theodore Roosevelt regarding a dinner invitation for Dr. Samuel Crothers. The letter was drafted in the Fall of 1908 on White House letterhead and Roosevelt writes to extend a dinner invitation to Crothers before his Presidential term ends. Dr. Samuel Crothers was an American Unitarian minister with The First Parish in Cambridge and a popular essayist with known ties to Roosevelt. The letter is professionally framed and measures approximately 10 - 1/2" x 8 - 5/8" including the frame. The letter comes with a James Spence Authentication Auction Letter of Authenticity. CONDITION: The paper has yellowed and the text exhibits slight fading, though still legible. Signature exhibits slight fading and bleeding. Frame exhibits wear and blemishes from age.
