Model PP manufactured by Walther towards the end of World War II. Model PPs of this variation were hastily assembled from existing parts and components, mainly with unskilled labor at the Walther arsenal in an attempt to meet the dire quota of the German military. The left side of the slide and frame are bare save for a single "(Eagle) / WaA359" waffenamt on each. The right side of the slide bears an "(Eagle) / N" commercial nitro proof, followed by the serial number, as well as Walther's "ac" code. "(Eagle) / N" commercial nitro proof is also present on the right side of the chamber and barrel. Metal components are blued, with the trigger being in the white. Frame is fitted with what are likely G.I. made hardwood grips, featuring a metal inlaid swastika on either panel. Pistol is accompanied by a leather holster featuring a pinned eagle holding a wreathed swastika on the flap. Interior of flap bears a mostly indistinct inscription, with "P.F.C." being legible. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning showing through to gray and brown patina overall, as well as some scattered spots of oxidation. Trigger shows scattered spots of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good overall, with few minor marks from handling and storage. Left grip panel exhibits an area of loss at the top, but is otherwise fine. Holster shows some scattered marks from handling and storage, but is otherwise fine and still malleable. MLW
