P.08 manufactured by Mauser in 1942. The receiver is stamped "42" over the chamber, with Mauser waffenamts on the right. Toggle bears Mauser's "byf" code. Right side of barrel bears an eagle firing proof followed by a Mauser 8-line star burst proof. Metal components are salt blued, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the black plastic magazine bottom, which is appropriately unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal applied salt blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning showing through to gray and brown patina, some scattered spots of light surface oxidation, as well as some cleaning marks present on the barrel. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light surface oxidation and retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show a few scattered impressions and a few nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Magazine body exhibits scattered areas of oxidation overall. MLW
