Standard configuration P.38 manufactured at the Mauser arsenal in 1944. The left side of the slide is stamped "P.38" followed by "byf / 44" and the serial number, with the right side bearing a Mauser "(Eagle) / WaA135" waffenamt on either side of an eagle firing proof. Left side of frame bears the serial number followed by a work step mark "3" as well as an "(Eagle) / 135" waffenamt. Bottom of rear grip strap spur bears a "NHM CO." import stamp. Metal components exhibit a salt blued finish, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block. Interior components retain a layer of old cosmoline. Pistol is accompanied by an Erma La 22 leather holster. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting few indications of wear overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from storage and handling, but are otherwise fine. MLW
