The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT D.A. 38", with Colt's 2-line address across the top. Left side of frame bears an "R.A.C." (Rinaldo A. Major metal components exhibit a lustrous high polish blue finish, with some smaller components being nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece smooth wood grips as well as with a lanyard swivel at the butt. Matching assembly number "5911" is present on the frame, cylinder crane, as well as on the cylinder release latch. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their period blue finish, exhibiting some light marks from handling and storage, some areas of mild wear and thinning showing through to gray and brown patina, as well as a few spots of surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from handling and storage, with a small loss on the right grip and a loss on the left grip at the left toe. A very attractive example of a revolver that is over a century old. MLW
