Woodsman pistol manufactured by Colt in 1939. The left side of the barrel bears Colt's 2-line address followed by "THE WOODSMAN", with the left side of the slide being stamped "COLT" followed by the caliber designation as well as the Rampant Colt logo. Features include a blue finish, 4 - 1/2" barrel, ramp front sight, square notch rear sight, as well as 2-piece checkered walnut grips. Pistol is accompanied by an original factory box that matches via a handwritten number on the bottom panel. Lid endlabel reads "4 1/2 INCH BARREL / Fixed Front Sight". Box contains its original matching factory paper test target and a Shooting Suggestions pamphlet. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original finish, exhibiting some light wear, scattered marks from handling and storage, as well as a couple spots of surface oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and a few small impressions, but are otherwise fine. Box exhibits exterior wear, some taped repairs, and is missing a section on the lid, which is present inside the box. MLW
