DSP. Sign is Maker Marked S.P. & Dated 1960. A bright and glossy example of this highly sought after Porcelain Service Station Sign from Lion Gasoline showing a large leaping lion graphic on each side. CONDITION: Side one shows outstanding color and gloss throughout the field with a near mint condition lion graphic showing just a few minor nicks. Side one shows seven light areas of very minor touchup in the field, mostly BB size nicks in the white porcelain. The outer edge of side one is also in outstanding condition showing just minor ring wear. Overall side one displays extremely well, Grade 8.75+. Side two is also in outstanding condition showing excellent color & gloss throughout the field with a clean lion graphic showing just a couple of very minimal nicks. Side two shows six very minimal areas of light touchup in the field but overall excellent throughout. Side two shows a clean outer edge with just a few light areas of minimal ring wear but overall outstanding, Grade 8.75+. A beautiful example overall and an excellent piece of unique Service Station Porcelain Signage.
