Standard configuration P.08 Luger manufactured by DWM during the Great War. The receiver is stamped "1917" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs on the right. Receiver is notched for an LP.08 rear sight. Major metal components are blued, with some small components being strawed and nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, sideplate, safety lever and bar, receiver, extractor, breechblock, firing pin, forward and rear toggle links, as well as on the grips. Barrel is a period replacement, with the takedown lever and trigger being salt blued replacements. Magazine is a blued WWII replacement with a black plastic bottom. Pistol is accompanied by a brown leather holster stamped "J.A. STANIENDA/ 1916/ BERLIN N" on the interior of the flap and contains a spare World War II era black plastic bottom magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting areas of silvering on the receiver, some areas of wear and thinning showing through to brown patina, some scattered spots of pitting, as well as some mild surface oxidation overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting mild oxidation and strong rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing overall, as well as a few nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Holster is malleable, exhibiting some mild exterior wear overall and a few small spots of minor crazing. MLW
