K43 rifle manufactured by Walther in 1944. The left side of the rough forged receiver is stamped "K 43" followed by "ac / 44" (44 below the wood line) and the serial number. Right side of receiver retains its notched scope rail. Barrel bears the manufacturer code "dtk" followed by the year of manufacture "44". Bolt carrier is of Berlin-Lubecker manufacture, bearing an "(Eagle) / 214" waffenamt on the top flat. Stock bears a single Walther "(Eagle / 359" waffenamt on the bottom of the wrist. Metal components are blued, with the stock being comprised of laminated wood. Buttplate is in-the-white and magazine exhibits a matte black finish. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and bolt, with the firing pin matching via an electro-penciled number. Bolt carrier and gas cylinder do not match and stock is unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and some spots of surface oxidation overall, with the balance of the receiver, barrel band, and trigger guard showing a mottled gray and brown patina. Buttplate shows areas of age related discoloration and some areas of oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Stock is very good, showing some minor dings and nicks from storage and handling, as well as a crack on the right side at cross bolt. A very nice example of a desirable German World War II Walther K43 rifle. MLW
