Lot consists of 2 circa late Victorian Era-early 20th century British Kings Royal Rifle Corps second lieutenant's uniforms. (A) Mohair braid patrol jacket and trousers. The jacket is constructed of cloth with braided trim and red highlights on the collar and sleeves. The jacket features exquisite mohair braid trim with 5 toggle button style front closures. Rounded high collar with 1 neck fastener. Shoulders feature braided epaulettes with second lieutenant insignia. Trousers are of the same quality with braided trim which travels the length of the pantleg. The trouser buttons are marked "E TAUTZ & SONS" with correct Oxford address. The company specialized in trousers since its founding in 1867. CONDITION: Clean overall with scattered blemishes. Light mothing with largest nip measuring 1/4". Jacket lining is excellent with no rips. Trousers exhibit interior wear, especially around the waistline. Overall very good. (B) Kings Royal Rifle Corps parade dress uniform. Same construction as (A) but in parade design. The jacket features exquisite mohair braid trim with 5 toggle button style front closures. Rounded high collar with 1 neck fastener. Shoulders feature braided epaulettes with second lieutenant insignia. Quilted lining. Vest is equally exquisite with braided trim and red highlights. Trousers match the configuration of (A) with plastic buttons marked "PULFORD" with correct address. Original manufacturer tag is located inside the waistline and are marked "Parade" in ink. CONDITION: Clean overall with scattered blemishes. Jacket lining good, with minor rips around the sleeves. Vest lining has yellowed and exhibits 1 5/8" rip. which goes all the way through. Trousers exhibit interior wear, especially around the waistline. Overall very good.
