SSP. An excellent example of this Circa 1920's Porcelain Sign showing, "Spitting On The Platform Of Other Parts Of This Station Is Unlawful Offenders Are Liable To Arrest". Signs were used primarily in major city Subways & Railroad Depots to cut down on the spread of disease by spitting. CONDITION: Sign is in overall excellent condition throughout showing a chip free field with excellent bold script. Sign shows some minor areas of surface scratch in the field as well as some areas of cloudiness in the blue porcelain. Sign shows a clean outer edge with only a couple of very small nicks and overall displays excellent throughout.
