SSP. An absolutely incredible example of this important Sign from Texaco. This is most likely the finest known example of this beautiful and iconic Circa 1920's Texaco Gasoline & Motor Oils Filling Station Porcelain Sign showing a large Texaco Star graphic as well as green outlined Gasoline & Filling Station lettering. This is one of the earliest and iconic Porcelain Advertising Signs produced for Texaco and shows museum display quality. CONDITION: Sign shows outstanding color and gloss throughout the field showing no chipping with bright colors as well as a clean Texaco Star graphic at the center. Sign shows only a few very minor and faint surface scratches in the field most likely from storage as well as areas of light factory flaws due to its early crude production. Sign shows near immaculate lettering in the outer field as well as crisp green outlined Gasoline and Filling Station letters. Sign shows a minor amount of wear at the mounting holes with one pencil eraser sized chip above the "N" of Gasoline in the outer band as well as two very minor nicks along the outer white edge. The sign shows a heavily dripped and sloppy backside giving the piece excellent shelving between each color as well as slight factory flaws adding to the character of the Sign. One of if not the finest example known of this historic Sign from Texaco Gasoline & Motor Oils and a very important piece of early American Service Station Advertising.
