DST. Sign is Maker Marked A.M. Sign Co., Lynchburg, Virginia & Dated 1939. An incredibly clean example of this rare and highly sought after Tin Service Station Sign from Oilzum Motor Oils & Lubricants, a product of the White & Bagley Company, Worcester, Massachusetts. Sign features the iconic "Oswald The Driver" graphic on each side as well as black and orange Oilzum colors. CONDITION: Side one is in outstanding condition showing excellent color and gloss throughout the field with clean lettering that is bright and glossy. Side one shows some minimal surface scratching in the field with notable scratches at the right side in the black outer field as well as some minor paint scratching at the chin of the Oswald graphic. Side one shows a clean outer edge with only a few minor areas of light staining and overall displays outstandingly well, Grade 8.9+. Side two is also in excellent condition showing a clean Oswald graphic but side two shows areas of minor discoloration in the white and orange colors. Side two shows minor paint loss in the white lettering as well as some areas of darker staining in the orange and two-tone color in the black tin near the outer edge. The outer orange band is in excellent condition showing only a couple of minor stain marks and although side two shows some minor color wear it displays outstanding, Grade 8.0. An incredibly clean and very nice displaying example of this rare and highly sought after piece from Oilzum Motor Oils, one of the finest examples we have ever sold.
