DSP. Sign is Maker Marked Burdick Chicago. An incredibly scarce die cut Porcelain Sign from Packard Automobiles showing "Packard Service". Sign is a die cut radiator shape and shows a winged Radiator Motometer graphic at the top. CONDITION: Side one is in outstanding condition showing excellent color and gloss throughout the field with clean lettering and bright cobalt blue porcelain. Side one shows four pencil eraser sized chips in the outer field with clean lettering and excellent gloss throughout the field. Side one shows some very minimal wear at the top two mounting holes as well as some very minimal wear along the outer edge but overall outstanding throughout, Grade 8.75+. Side two also shows outstanding color and gloss throughout the field with four areas of light chipping in the field as well as some minor areas of light surface scratch. Side two shows some light dullness in the white porcelain, most of which is not noticeable when hung. Side two shows very minimal wear at the top two mounting holes and the outer edge of side two shows only very minor wear and overall displays outstanding, Grade 8.75+. Sign is mounted in the original iron bracket which displays the piece outstanding. A very clean and important piece of early Automotive Porcelain Advertising form Packard Automobiles.
