Model 1873 double action revolver manufactured by St. Etienne. The right side of the receiver is stamped "Mre d'Armes / St. Etienne", with the right barrel flat stamped "S.1902". Top barrel flat is stamped "Mle 1873", 2 left flats bear the serial number as well as encircled "L" and encircled "B" inspector proofs. Major metal components are appropriately polished in-the-white, while some smaller components are strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching, including the internal components. Frame retains its unusual, but ingenious, mainspring release lever. Revolver is accompanied by an original unmarked brown leather holster. CONDITION: Metal components exhibit dark age related discoloration and some light surface oxidation overall. Strawed interior components are excellent, retaining the vast majority of their finish, exhibiting some light wear and some small spots of age related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting a couple spots of concentrated pitting and retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing, as well as some nicks and impressions, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Holster shows some mild wear and marks from storage and handling, but is otherwise good. MLW
