1 of only approximately 15,000 Model 1915 pistols manufactured by Beretta as a replacement for the Glisenti Model 1910 pistol during World War I. This example is stamped "PIETRO BERETTA-BRESCIA CASA FONDATA NEL 1680 / CAL. 9m.-BREVETTO 1915" on the left side of the slide, with a "PS" stamp within an oval present on the right side of the frame. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish, frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, safety catch, slide, barrel, hammer, trigger bar, as well as on the sear plate. Pistol is accompanied by a brown leather holster containing 1 spare magazine. Rear of holster is stamped with a crown over "PS/ MMIX". CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light wear showing through to gray patina, as well as areas of inactive oxidation beneath the finish. Bore is bright, as refinished, exhibiting moderate inactive oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing to the checking and some nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Holster is excellent. MLW
